Gem's was conceived because of the natural desire of one sister to see the other sister fulfill her dreams.
Gabby (the chef) entered the culinary world at the age of 18. She spent 12 years mastering her craft at the Valhalla Inn. After spending extended periods of time in each department
(garde-manger, line cook in Timbers, Sunday brunch cook, pastries, fine dining in Nordic) she then received her Red Seal certification and was promoted to junior sous chef. A couple years passed and she was promoted to banquet chef. She kept this position until she left on maternity leave.
Anyone that knows Gabby can attest to her passion for food and cooking.
She has always wanted a kitchen to call her own, where she can make food her own way.
Erica knew that Gabby would have a hard time embarking on the adventure, so she made the decision for both of them. It was an easy decision because she sees the passion, dedication and skills Gabby possesses.
Gem's food will always be made in-house with fresh ingredients just like at home. Our deep Fried Pickles are hand breaded as is our Southern Style Chicken. Our gravy is made from scratch using only top quality ingredients.
All baking is done fresh every morning.
You will always be able to count on a handmade burger and fresh cut fries.
Right now our hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 4pm and Saturday, 10-3.
These hours will change once we have a new hot water tank.

The menu will also be expanding and we will have specials (like this Wednesday, we will have pulled pork sliders) and we will be adding salads by mid-week.
